Off the Script! Phil & Kendall’s Financial Pet Peeves – Episode 20

We ripped the script for this episode. Literally! We had a plan of what we were going to talk about, but decided to go off-book. After sharing our Question of the Day, we discuss our pet peeves when it comes to investing and financial planning (and a few random ones 🙂).

For many, the pandemic uncovered a lot of unknown risks in our portfolios and budgets. While life isn’t without risk and we can’t give you a crystal ball to predict what could go wrong, there are ways to minimize the risk in your financial plan.

This was a fun episode to record, and we hope you enjoy!

Key Takeaways:

1) Start thinking about the next generation. Whether you have more money than you’ll need or just enough to get you through retirement, creating generational wealth can start with you. Even if you don’t have thousands to pass on, you can set things up now to pass on any money you haven’t used at the time of your death.

2) You don’t know what the future holds. When the pandemic hit, no one could have predicted it was going to occur or for how long. For many, it hit their budget and financial plans in a big way. Events like this have a tendency of uncovering the areas of risk in our financial plans that we weren’t actually comfortable with. Instead of waiting for the next event to occur, take the time to assess your financial plan and uncover the risk!
