Approaching 2023 With Gratitude and Expectation: A Note From Our Founder

Hello, friends—Phil here!

Well, another year is behind us, which means another opportunity for hope and happiness lies ahead. 2022 was a challenging year for so many of us because of the market volatility, as well as post-Covid frustrations that we all are suffering through in this life. This is the new “normal,” but today I want to give you my view of what I think is going to be a tremendous future.

As I sit here and reflect on 2022, I do so with a lot of thankfulness. I am thankful for all of you, and for the incredible blessing that you are to me and my family and the entire 210 team. Thank you!

In addition to the meaningful partnership we got to have with each of our clients every week, 2022 was a special year for 210 Financial:

You may have heard, but we are expanding with a new location in Davenport, IA! We now have physical offices in Morton, Bloomington, and Davenport, and we are eager to support this community. We are grateful for the opportunity!

We also were able to partner with the charity our clients selected for the year: Peoria Rescue Ministries. Over the course of the year, we were able to raise $12,920 for their ministry! Incredible! At another point, Peoria Rescue Ministries informed us that they were in need of winter coats, so we sent out an email to our clients. Within 48 hours, our clients had brought in 75 coats! I mean, just look at all these:

At the beginning of the year, Kendall and I also started hosting a brand new podcast called Your Retirement Blueprint that you can watch on YouTube or listen to on your favorite audio podcast platform.

That’s just scratching the surface, but what an incredible year it was!

Beyond all of that, I also want to challenge you today to look into the future with great hope and expectation. I challenge you to think eternally and to check and see where you’re at in your spiritual life because that’s all that will really matter in the end. I also want to challenge you to think optimistically because of who we are as Americans. This is the greatest country on the planet, even with all its problems, trials, tribulations, confusions, etc. I’ve had the incredible privilege of traveling this globe, and every time I get back on American soil, I literally want to kiss the ground because it feels so good to be home in the greatest place ever designed by mankind.

I can remember many times in my life when we as Americans felt overwhelmed by circumstances (economic or otherwise), but we have always found our way through. I believe we’ll find our way out of the current situation that we’re in now as well. I have complete hope and confidence in these great people called Americans. We will find our way to the top again.

Everything rises and falls on leadership, and therefore I want to challenge you each again to take a place of leadership in this country, whether that’s in your neighborhood, your schools, your church, or your families, find someplace where you can be a leader. Where you can be a light of hope to people who need it.

I’m taking that challenge in 2023. I want to reach out to people’s lives in a deeper way this upcoming year. I want to hug longer this year. I want to look and listen more intently than I ever have. With all of us pulling in the same direction, I’m quite certain we can make a major impact in our world.

As we enter 2023, I encourage you to enter with gratitude. Thank the good Lord for all the blessings in your life, and for the simple fact that you’re still here. What a blessing that is!
